Choosing the Right Service

What We Offer

The purpose of your appraisal determines the type of value needed. We’ll help you choose the appropriate service.

Insurance Replacement

Detailed documentation and an estimated retail replacement value for insurance coverage. The value reflects the expected cost to replace the item with one of like kind and quality, not its resale value.

Fair Market Value

An opinion of the price an item would reasonably sell for between a willing buyer and seller in the appropriate market. Commonly used for estate settlement, charitable donation, consignment, and other legal or financial purposes.

Quick-Sale Value

An estimate of what an item might sell for within a limited or urgent timeframe, typically below fair market value. A quick-sale appraisal is a valuation service, not an offer to purchase.

Your Appraiser

Expertise You Can Trust

Appraisals are prepared by Mary Van Buer, an AGS Certified Gemologist, GIA Graduate Gemologist, and NAJA Retail Appraiser Member.

Mary prepares approximately 150–200 appraisal reports each year using professional gemological equipment and current market research.

Appraisal Pricing

$145 per hour

We charge for the time required—not a separate fee for every piece.
